About Dr. Miller
Dr. Miller’s family first came to Arkansas in the 1870s. He recently moved back to be closer to family. He began his counseling journey by working with individuals and couples for many years as a pastoral counselor in Oklahoma, Virginia, and Georgia before becoming a clinical mental health counselor and counselor educator. He has been in the clinical mental health field over 12 years.
Dr. Miller earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, an MDiv in Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, an MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Liberty University. As an assistant professor, Dr. Miller teaches multiple courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and enjoys assisting doctoral students with research methodology related to their dissertations.
As an Assistant Professor at Liberty University, Dr., Miller has co-authored a clinical textbook on case conceptualization, written chapters for textbooks, and presented at national, state, and local counseling workshops. Along with colleagues, he developed a Biblical wellness model designed to help churches address emotional health concerns. His research interests include Biblical wellness, attribution theory, problematic pornography use, and spiritual bypass.
As a licensed professional counselor, Dr. Miller works with individuals, couples, and adolescents, treating a broad range of mental health issues including anxiety, anger, depression, and trauma.
